The New Hampton girls golf team picked up right where they left off last season with a victory over Charles City 180-214. 
Although the meet was at Charles City, the Chickasaws talent and experience was too much for the Comets.

A cold and rainy day did not stop multiple individuals from the New Hampton and Turkey Valley trapshooting teams from shining. 

The story on Tuesday evening for the Turkey Valley girls track team was freshman Jalyssa Blazek, as she totaled 18.5 of the team’s 30 total points. The Trojans finished sixth of nine teams at the Postville Lady Pirate Relays.

There was plenty of opposition for Turkey Valley during their track meet at Edgewood, as there were a total of 15 teams who competed at the event.

The Turkey Valley trapshooting team opened its season with a bang Monday as the Trojans had the top two squads, the top five male shooters and the top two female shooters in a meet against Crestwood.

New Hampton’s trapshooting team kicked off its 2019 season Tuesday by sweeping the top three spots at a meet against St. Ansgar at a wind-swept Mitchell County Trap Range just outside of Osage.

A windy and frigid evening did not stop the New Hampton girls track team from making the trip to Mason City on Tuesday for a meet. 

More than a year ago, Noah Fenske checked the track record board at New Hampton High School, and the goal — break the school record in the shot put — was formed.

After winning the conference championship and making the state golf meet as a team in 2017, the New Hampton boys golf team was not able to repeat either of these accomplishments last season.

The New Hampton girls golf team has achieved an immense amount of accolades over the past few seasons, including two runner-up finishes at state and four consecutive Northeast Iowa Conference championships.

Turkey Valley’s Eli Nymeyer had just anchored the Trojan distance medley to a win.
“I think we could go faster,” he said after catching his breath. “I’d rather have someone to go up against that pushes me.”

Early last week, the weather forecast predicted rain for Friday. So North Fayette Valley moved their opening coed track meet of the season up a day.

New Hampton boys head track coach Scott Frerichs said his team’s youth showed in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Waverly-Shell Rock Co-Ed Invite this past Thursday.

The New Hampton girls track team kicked off its outdoor season at the Waverly-Shell Rock Co-Ed Invite on Thursday. The meet consisted of fierce competition, as multiple 3A and 4A schools participated in the event.
