Freshman lead Turkey Valley at Postville meet

Lead Summary

The story on Tuesday evening for the Turkey Valley girls track team was freshman Jalyssa Blazek, as she totaled 18.5 of the team’s 30 total points. The Trojans finished sixth of nine teams at the Postville Lady Pirate Relays.
Blazek placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.34. Her best time of 1:03.67 this spring currently ranks ninth in Class 1A and first among freshman.
She also got second in the 1500-meter run, clocking in at 5:38.89. This currently places her 20th best in Class 1A. The lone girl who beat her was Crestwood’s Cassidy Ihns, whose best time of the season of 5:02.49 ranks second in Class 2A.
