Wow, what a kickoff!

For Jason Speltz, the 2016 Holiday Open House math equation went like this:The number of Saturday people + the number of Sunday people > the number of Sunday people in previous years.“The crowd yesterday was just amazing,” the New Horizons-Chamber director said Sunday afternoon, “but even though we don’t have quite the numbers today, it’s still really good. Everyone I’ve talked to has said it was a great weekend.”The Chamber made the decision to expand the Holiday Open House from its traditional Sunday affair to a two-day event that included a myriad of events — including the Craft Crawl on Saturday and the Holiday Extravaganza home-based business on Sunday.In between, there were sales at New Hampton stores and events at places like the Carnegie Cultural Center, the New Hampton Public Library and the Chickasaw County ISU Extension Office.Mother Nature certainly cooperated; if anything, the weekend temperatures were almost too nice as highs reached into the 60s.For the complete story see the 11/8/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
