Trojans run well, get preview of UIC course

While two girls joined Turkey Valley freshman Jaycie Byrne on the cross country course Thursday at the Tri City golf course near Luana, there still weren't quite enough bodies to compete as a team.    The boys also fell just short, with four members finishing from their squad.    Still, coach Sarah Bakula liked the way the runners tackled the course.    "Overall everyone ran well, the weather was great," she said. "Running last night at Tri City will help us during conference, as this is where our UIC meet is scheduled to be at."     On the boys side, Jordon Snyder placed fourth of 47 runners with a time 18:37, followed by Zach Gillen in seventh with a time of 19:13.
More results from the meet may be found in the Sept. 5 Tribune.
