Trojans put up big numbers in district win over North Iowa

Lead Summary

Turkey Valley fans have grown accustomed to the big plays the Trojans have scored on in the past years, and those exciting moments continue during the 2017 season.    At least three of them came Friday night in the 64-8 win over North Iowa, which the Trojans played after a long drive to Buffalo Center.    In the second quarter, an Ethan Leibold to Will Einwalter pass went for 77 yards — remember, this is 8-man football with an 80-yard field — to put Turkey Valley up 44-0.That pass is currently the second-longest touchdown pass in the class this season.    Then there's the interception by Cale Reicks that he took 65 yards to the end zone, that ranks as the longest pick six among 8-man schools.    And though there are many longer touchdown runs in the state than the 49-yarder Reicks took to pay dirt, also in the second quarter, it was the longest scoring scamper for the Trojans this season.
