Trojans give South Winn two good battles

Lead Summary

Turkey Valley came within three runs of its first win of the season at South Winn last week — twice. After a Tuesday night 10-3 loss to Decorah, the Lady Trojans dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the Warriors, 11-8 and 8-5 on Thursday. While looking over the book, coach Debbie Nesvik pointed to a home run by the Warriors in the first inning of game two."Had it not been for that, we would have definitely had a chance of winning that game," she said of the game against her alma mater. But the fast South Winn start — five runs in the first inning — was too much. Although Turkey Valley came back to tie in the fourth, South Winn added a trio of runs in the fifth.
