Trojan teams sweep Central

Lead Summary

While both the girls and boys played a bit short-handed Tuesday against Central Elkader, the scoreboards didn’t show it. Both Trojan teams stayed unbeaten as the girls won 56-37, and the boys crushed the Warriors, 70-17.
The girls were playing without Jalyssa Blazek, who suffered a minor concussion in a recent game. But with Katlyn Baumler’s eight first-quarter points, the hosts jumped out to a 16-8 lead over the undefeated Warriors.
“Katlyn got us off to a great start with her inside game,” coach Carla Nymeyer said. “Central was able to get the momentum going in their favor in the second, but we bounced back in the third with a strong performance to put us back in control.”
