Times are good, but course is flat at Cresco

Lead Summary

Water has messed with cross country schedules this year. Not only when it was raining, but after the rain stopped. It changed the New Hampton Invitational Thursday to Jackson Heights, and last Saturday's meet at Crestwood was held on the flat school grounds instead of their more challenging golf course.     "Even though my team wasn't able to battle "the hill" I was pleased with their performances today at Cresco," began coach Jamie Quass. "I guess this just means that we'll have to run hills this week at practice....wahahaha (evil laugh)!!"     Later on in the story Quass is quoted as saying she's not crazy, you be the judge of that.     It was the second straight meet without Jake Usher, who is out with Patella Retraction Syndrome. "It's killing him not getting to run, but I'd rather be safe than sorry," said the coach, who added Usher may run once this week.     Hannah Heit continued to lead the girls and Olivia Burke continued to push her.  All the New Hampton results may be found in the Oct. 4 Tribune.
