New Hampton’s Paige Wisner gets a great jump on her way to picking up one of the Chickasaws’ seven stolen bases in a win over South Winneshiek Friday night.

Chickasaws end regular season with solid victory

No. 12 New Hampton finishes regular season with sterling 27-7 mark

New Hampton senior Sydney Laures will be the first to admit that she was feeling a bit disheartened at the beginning of the season.

“At the start of the season, I just couldn’t get my bat going,” she said after the Chickasaws concluded a standout regular season with a 9-4 win over South Winneshiek Friday.

“I was really getting frustrated. But my coaches, my teammates and everyone had my back.”

And maybe, just maybe, that’s the secret to a team that will take a 27-7 record into Wednesday evening’s Class 3A regional opener against Forest City at Mikkelson Park.
