Softball team looks to break losing skid

Lead Summary

To say it’s been a tough season for the Nashua-Plainfield softball team would be a giant understatement. The Huskies have had to deal with a “late start” because of the track and golf teams’ successes this spring and injuries and illnesses have also taken their toll.It didn’t get much better for Nashua-Plainfield last week as they dropped a 10-0 game to St. Ansgar and a 12-0 tilt to Osage to see its losing streak reach 16 games. The Huskies managed just four hits — singles by Mekenna Weiss, Britney Holthaus, Abby Lumley and Hailey Schmitz — in the loss to St. Ansgar.More on the story may be found in the June 30 Reporter.
