Putting it all together

Lead Summary

The lack of depth coach Chris Sullivan has on the Turkey Valley boys basketball team wasn’t evident in the stat charts after the Trojan 82-30 win over Riceville last Monday.
Or maybe it was. With only four guys on the bench Sullivan has no choice but to give all the players copious amounts of game time, even as the TV boys owned a 24-7 lead after a quarter and held a 46-19 margin at half.
“We had five guys in double figures in scoring and anytime that happens it makes it tough for a team to defend us,” said Sullivan after the win put his team at 6-4 — 5-2 in the conference — going into the holiday break.
The top scorer was Kalvin Langreck and he’s been at the top before, in five of the 10 games, and he’s been the second-best scorer in another three. Langreck leads the Upper Iowa Conference in points scored with 157 and is third in assists.
He drove to the basket at will against the Wildcats and looked unstoppable.
