Donald John Jenn, 78

Donald John Jenn, age 78 of Spokane, Washington, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at his home of natural causes.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donald John Jenn was born May 25, 1943, in Ionia, the son of Frank and Letha (Bucknell) Jenn.

Don attended school in Ionia at St. Boniface until he graduated from the 12th grade.

Following graduation, Don worked at the Charles City Elevator. Don then decided to become a boilermaker. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and traveled all over the United States. He worked in states like California, Pennsylvania, Alaska and Oregon.

He ended up traveling to 46 of the 50 U.S. states.

He enjoyed mountain climbing in his spare time and even traveled to Switzerland and Brazil.

Don will be remembered for his contagious smile, genuine heart, his unfailing work ethic, and loving phone calls. He was always worth a good laugh or two and loved to tease his family members.

“People will forget what you said, will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” (Maya Angelou).

And Don did that for all of us!

Don is survived by two brothers, Raymond Jenn and his wife, Mary Belle of Waterloo, and Norbert Jenn of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Letha Jenn; his sister, Elaine Krull and three brothers, Ralph, LaVern and Virgil Jenn.
