New Hampton, N-P move football games up; Turkey Valley still starting at 7

Lead Summary

A dicey weather forecast for Friday night has led New Hampton and Nashua-Plainfield officials to move up the start of their high school football games.
Both the Chickasaws and the Huskies will start their home games at 5 p.m. because the National Weather Service’s forecast says rain — and possibly thunderstorms — is likely later in the evening.
New Hampton has moved its fresh-soph game to Tuesday night to accommodate the early start time for its game against Crestwood, which involves the two teams atop the Class 2A, District 3 standings. Nashua-Plainfield, meanwhile, will kick off its game with Central Springs two hours earlier than originally scheduled.
Turkey Valley’s homecoming game with West Central will start at 7 p.m., although school officials did look into moving up the start time but could not do so because the officials who are working the game couldn’t make it to Jackson Junction earlier.
