Lead Summary

Nashua-Plainfield's Garret Rinken capped off a brilliant sophomore season Saturday night as he beat West Sioux's Braden Graff in the 113-pound title bout at the Class 1A state wrestling tournament in Des Moines.
In a battle of unbeatens, Graff, drew first blood with a first-period takedown, but Rinken came up with takedowns both midway through the second period and midway through the third period to score a 4-2 win and become Nashua-Plainfield's first individual state wrestling champion since Andy Glaser in 2012.
Rinken finished the season 47-0 while Graff suffered his first loss after winning his first 42 matches of the year.
