N-P runners show their potential at Dunkerton meet

Lead Summary

The Nashua-Plainfield girls cross country team made a statement last week — running well at a meet in Waverly and then beating a ranked team on its way to a second-place finish at the Dunkerton Invitational.    Hey, and the boys had themselves a pretty good week, as well.    “Both teams are finally figuring out that if you don't pass people, your team score isn't going to go down,” Nashua-Plainfield coach Jen Kalainoff said. “They know what this takes and each meet, they are going out and run better than the last time. I can't really ask more out of them.”    Start off with the girls, who started the week with a ninth-place finish at the Dick Pollit Go-Hawk Classic last Tuesday and then finished only behind Hudson while beating 13th-rated Sumner-Fredericksburg at the Dunkerton meet on Thursday.
Results from the each of the meets may be found in the Sept. 14 Reporter.
