Mulford helps North to Shrine Bowl victory

New Hampton’s Matt Mulford definitely showed he “belonged” as he helped the North to a 49-35 victory in the annual Shrine Bowl game that was played Saturday in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Mulford started at right guard and had several key blocks that helped give the North big gains and was in on three scoring drives as the North snapped a five-game losing streak.In addition to the football game, Shrine Bowl participants, who included Turkey Valley cheerleader Kennedy Balk, participated in a variety of activities during the week.More on the story may be found in the July 26 Tribune.
