Lending vets a hand

Dave Jacobsen wants to make one thing perfectly clear: If you’re a veteran, he’s here for you.For six years, 27 hours a week, Jacobsen has had one mission — to make sure veterans get the services they need.“I think the services are out there,” the Chickasaw County Veterans Affairs Director said, “but sometimes, our veterans and their families just don’t know they’re there. That’s my job, and I love it because I get to help those who served their country.”Veterans Day may be this Friday, but for the 76-year-old Jacobsen, every day is Veterans Day.He’s helped numerous veterans receive benefits from federal, state and county programs, but that’s only part of his job.For the complete story see the 11/8/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
