Everett D. "Jim" Babcock dies at 79

Everett D. "Jim" Babcock, 79, passed away on Feb. 15, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lois, 2015; parents Everett and Mary Babcock; grandson Matthew Dennis; brother Tom Babcock and sister Edna Mae Babcock Adams and brother-in-law Steve (Boobie) Adams; also preceded in death by beloved dog, "Peaches". He is survived by his daughter Kelly Babcock (Jim Dunlap); son Rodney (Vicki) Babcock; grandchildren James Dennis (Angie Teto), Jennifer (Drew) Owen; great grandchildren Lily and Abigail Owen, James Dominic Dennis; sister in-law, Sharon Babcock and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Jim was a member of the Eagles Aerie 145 and a very active member of St Pius X Catholic Church. He served in the Navy on the USS Hoist. Jim never met a stranger; he will be missed by many family and friends. Viewing was Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, 4 to 7 p.m. at Imperial funeral home. Memorial Mass, was 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, St Pius X Church.Those attending from the area were Lois’s brother and wife, Galen and Carol Menken of green, cousin Deb Vhlenhopp and husband Denton of Aplington. Sharon Babcock and Brenda Whitney of Frederika and Tommy Babcock of Cedar Falls.
