This may sound strange, but Cole McDonald is adamant about it.
He would not trade the challenges thrown at him for a proverbial million dollars, for those tough times — the Tommy John surgery in 2014 or the disastrous sophomore season at the University of Iowa in 2017 — made him into the pitcher he is today.
And that pitcher is now a professional baseball player after McDonald was taken by the Houston Astros in the 15th round of the Major League Baseball draft.
