DOCS for Hope hospital taking shape

Heather Harms and her husband, Nathan, may be the new doctors at Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton, but in a way, she’s a DOCS for Hope veteran.After all, she first went to Guatemala when she was 12 years old, and in recent years, she’s made the trip to Central America several times to work with Adonai International Ministries (AIM).So she was pretty excited to join her husband on a 3 1/2-week trip to Canilla in late August and early September and see the progress on the hospital DOCS for Hope hospital.“It’s amazing to me to see how far we’ve come,” Heather said. “The clinic is seeing patients, the hospital is taking shape and I can just imagine what the other doctors are feeling right now.”— For more on this story, see the Oct.  7 Tribune
