Chickasaws use hot shooting to roll to win

Lead Summary

A two-week break did nothing to break the momentum for Kaylee Eggerichs and her New Hampton teammates as the Chickasaws opened the second half of the season with a 62-42 win over Riceville on Friday.
Eggerichs had scored a career-high 16 points in a 49-39 victory over Decorah on Dec. 20, and that mark lasted all of one game as the senior hit 9 of 14 shots from the field on her way to a game-high 20 points against Riceville, the school both her parents attended and her cousin plays.
“I was really happy for her,” New Hampton coach Chad Pemble said. “I think it was kind of a big game for her, and the thing about Kaylee is she moves so well without the ball. Her teammates recognize that and got her the ball.”
