Chickasaws split with Charles City

Lead Summary

All the New Hampton girls basketball team needed was a little home cooking.
After an 0-3 start to the season, the Chickasaws played in their home opener last Tuesday and jumped out to a 17-3 lead, which proved to be vital, as they topped Charles City 54-45 in their first game in the new gym.
“Our kids were excited to play in the new gym for the first time. It’s where we shoot every day in practice,” New Hampton girls coach Chad Pemble said. “Our kids were loose. I think that probably contributed to the win as much as anything.”
