Chickasaw boys snap losing skid

Lead Summary

Maybe they weren’t so-called “must wins,” but the New Hampton boys basketball team desperately needed a couple of victories.
And thanks to balanced scoring on Thursday night and a hellacious defensive effort on Friday, the Chickasaws, who came into the week on a six-game losing skid, now are on a two-game winning streak heading into the final week of the regular season.
New Hampton rolled to a 65-43 win over non-conference foe Central Springs Thursday night and then broke open a close game with a 14-0 run in the third quarter to beat Northeast Iowa Conference rival Oelwein 56-43 the following night.
