Chickasaw boys drop a pair

Lead Summary

Losing is getting old for the New Hampton boys basketball team, but there is a silver lining, at least as far as coach Ryan Rausch is concerned.
“The effort is there,” he said, “and you know, I think it tells you what kind of kids we have when I can honestly say, we haven’t had a bad practice after a loss the entire season. Maybe people think I’m nuts, but we are close.”
But the end of last week didn’t provide a reprieve for the Chickasaws, who fell 63-53 to non-conference foe North Fayette Valley on Thursday and then saw a great start come to naught in a 54-34 loss to Northeast Iowa Conference rival Decorah on Friday.
